Hi Everyone,
I hope you all had a lovely break over Easter. We have started the summer term with such lovely weather! Please can I remind you to put suncream in the children's bag and apply it before they come in the morning please. I can then reapply it through the day!
Over the past term we have had some great achievements with the children- lots of new language from our youngest children, toilet training, recognising colours! All fantastic achievements!- I hope you liked seeing WOW certificates coming home, watch out for more as we progress and achieve our next steps!
Are the children still coming home and showing you the signs they are learning? They loved the sign for 'bunny' before Easter and this week we have learnt the sign for 'frog' and 'jumping'. The children have really impressed me with how much they join in with learning new signs and they all have a go!
This week I have sent home my annual feedback questionnaire, as always please take this opportunity to be honest and give any feedback! This really helps me to reflect on how I run the setting and make changes that will benefit the children! Id really appreciate your constructive criticism!
Over the past couple of months, I have invested in some new resources for the garden! We have a new mud kitchen, a colourful water wall, and a large caterpillar tunnel! The children have enjoyed having new toys in the garden to play with! I'm looking forward to seeing what learning opportunities arise from these new resources!
There is some changes coming to the EYFS from September 2025. I am currently spending a lot of time preparing for these. One of the things that has changed in the guidance is that children should be sat at small tables and chairs for meal times. So I have already implemented this change and we no longer sit at the main dining table to eat our snacks and lunch. We now have a small dining area specifically for the children with a low table and low chairs. The children are getting used to the change, but I must admit your children have always had excellent table manners and have always sat very well and joined in together with conversation at meal times all sat round the table together.
There is alot of changes to the guidance on 'healthy eating' please can I remind everyone to pack a 'healthy' lunchbox. Im always happy to chat about ideas for lunches if you want to. I provide a healthy snack mid morning and at about 4pm.
