Hi Everyone,
Hope you have all had a nice weekend! Its half term here this week, so we have no school runs to do and my children will be around to play all day!
It’s been lovely hearing through January about all your Christmas experiences. The children have made so many lovely memories, and over the last month have shared a few of them with me. We have enjoyed exploring Valentine's Day this week, thinking about love and friendship. I hope you liked your postcard the children made and sent home. They were excited to put them in the post box!

I wanted to share with you that last year I completed my Early Years Professional Development Programme course, which covered 3 main areas to support me with the children’s learning, Communication and Language, Mathematics and Personal, Social and Emotional Development. I have been enjoying seeing the training benefit the children’s learning.
I also completed a Signs and symbols course and we are learning a variety of different Makaton signs and trying to practice them regularly. If you want to look up any Makaton signs at home, You Tube have some really great short Makaton video clips, and the children seem to be really enjoying learning them. Some of our signs that the children know are: Eat, Drink, Play, Thank You, Help, Reindeer, Happy Birthday, Cold, Love, Friend. The children are really enjoying learning the signs and having a go, Ask your children to show you!
On the run up to Christmas we were really busy and I tried to ensure all children enjoyed some trips out and of course a visit from Santa! I am looking forward to going back to the Farm in the Spring with the children, so they get to see the baby animals.
Below is a list of my holiday dates for 2025 that I sent out recently, These are the dates I will be closed:

I am always looking at new ideas, resources and training opportunities to enhance the service that I offer. If there is anything, that you would like me to look into or that you would like to see in the setting, please come and talk to me. I’m always open to ideas and suggestions. I will also be sending out my yearly feedback form in the spring, so it will be great to get some feedback and suggestions.
The funding looks like it will go ahead to increase from 15 funded hours per week to 30 funded hours per week from September as proposed, for working families. If you are looking at changing any hours or are hoping to share childcare between settings, please could you let me know your thoughts, to help me plan ahead.
I am looking forward to working with your children through 2025. Have a lovely half term week, for those families that are off. I will be back open tomorrow, looking forward to seeing some smiley faces!
Thanks as always for working with me, and to your children for making my job so enjoyable!
