Summer 2023

Hi Everyone,

It's been a bit of a strange summer, with a lot more rain than we usually have in the Summer holiday....but despite the weather being a washout, we have still had a lovely summer holidays! The children have enjoyed lots of trips to a variety of parks, and outings , it's been lovely having my older children around to play with, they have really enjoyed spending the days with your little ones too!

As we go into the Autumn term, if there is anything particular you are working on with your children at home, please let me know or feel free to add it to our next steps board. I will be updating these regularly, so keep an eye on what your children are working on here. Some next steps are achieved relatively quickly and others take a while to fully secure.

We have had one of our lovely children leave us to go off to big school, which was very sad to say goodbye, but very exciting for them to move on to the next step. That does also mean that we have a new little one that has now joined us and seems to be settling in very well!
We have had 2 families welcoming in new babies this summer too! Congratulations to those families and to the children taking on and adjusting to the role of big brother/sister!

Reminder: Holiday dates:

Mon 15th - 19th October 2023.

Don't forget to encourage your children with our book swap. If your children bring their bookbags, we can share books with you at home. Feel free to send in any favourite stories for them to share with their friends here too! The children love books and story time, and they learn so much from books and sharing stories together. ( I am in the process of ordering new bags for any children that dont currently have one.)

Now the weather is changing again and we are back on the school run, please could children bring a light weight coat. Even though it is not neccessarily cold, it will keep them dry.

Also a little reminder to let me know if your children have any accidents over the weekend and have any new bruises or cuts on them since I have last seen them. I can then log this down. Its not neccassrily a bad thing, we all know children have lots of accidents, but it is a requirement that I note down and you sign any existing injuries. As you know I log on the app all the little cuts and grazes your children may get when they are with me too.

Please also remember to tell me if your child has been given calpol before they attend in the morning.

I have now completed my registration with SCA childminding agency and will be sending out some more information about that in the next week. Thank you to all those that responded to my 'New Agency Changes' message with such kindness and complimentary reassurance. My job really wouldnt be the same without the support of great families! Thank you!

Enjoy your weekend everyone! See you next week.
